This is a unique treatment in that it uses radiofrequency electric energy rather than light or laser energy in pulses delivered below the epidermis. Unlike an “ablative” (meaning that the surface gets removed) device, this approach can treat skin under the surface without significantly affecting the surface. This makes eMatrix treatments great for patients who might be prone to hyperpigmentation since radiofrequency energy is not absorbed by pigment-producing cells. The energy precisely generates intense heat under the surface of the skin in such a way that collagen and elastic production are triggered.
The skin rejuvenation results are often comparable to more disruptive treatments and produce remarkable improvements for fine wrinkles, poor skin texture or tone, sun damage, age spots, and acne or other forms of scaring. eMatrix also has a skin tightening effect which can improve slightly loose or saggy areas.
PhotoFirm is a combination treatment using intense pulsed light (IPL) along with laser treatment (non-ablative) which improves the results of the IPL stage with added collagen stimulation.
PhotoFirm treatments are best for treating pigmentation issues like freckles, sun spots, redness, rosacea, and enlarged capillaries. PhotoFirm can also improve the appearance of large pours or poor texture such as from prior acne.
While laser and RF (radio frequency) devices are most used on the face, their application can have equal benefit on larger areas such as the chest, abdomen, or legs.
The skin tightening effects that our devices can cause through stimulation of collagen and elastin production can help produce firmer and smoother skin on the majority of the body.
Laser treatments can also work in tandem with our sclerotherapy treatments to reduce the appearance of spider veins.
Poikiloderma (“sun aging”) involving reddish-brown discolorations, small, visible blood vessels that look like they are broken and thinning of the skin is common on the neck, shoulders and may be treatable with laser or intense pulsed light IPL treatments.
Our laser treatments can also be useful in a hand rejuvenation treatment plan. Laser treatments can address sun damage and age spots and smooth the skin on hands that have lost volume. Typically these treatments are combined with fillers and / or biofill.
