What is the CO2RE Intama Laser and how does it work for vaginal rejuvenation?

CO2 Laser is a carbon dioxide ablative laser device that uses a gas filled tube to concentrate and focus light. The light is then pulsed over the area to be treated. The light vaporizes surface skin cells making way for the generation of new skin, and penetrates deep into the dermis, stimulating blood flow to the area and encouraging the growth of collagen and elastin which smooths and tightens the skin over time.

CO2 laser can be used to treat the introitus, the vaginal canal, and the external genitalia. Benefits include improving the appearance of the genitalia, tightening the vaginal canal after giving birth, improving vaginal sensitivity and lubrication, and restoring continence in cases where it has been lost. CO2 laser has also been used in gynecology to treat non-malignant vulvar and cervical dysplasia.

Vaginal rejuvenation treatment, downtime, and results

Treatment sessions take between 10 and 30 minutes. For external treatments, a topical numbing cream is applied. For internal treatments, a special laser handpiece is inserted into the vagina where it focuses laser energy onto the vaginal walls. The internal treatment is typically painless and requires no numbing cream.

The whole treatment is fast and fairly painless. Downtime is minimal with the main thing being to abstain from vaginal intercourse for 3 days following an internal treatment and 7 days following an external treatment. Results can be noticed even after the first treatment and most sexual partners say that they notice the difference too.

For optimum results, we recommend a series of 3 treatments with 4-6 weeks in between for tissue remodeling and healing to take place.
